CALL FOR PAPERS

Evental Aesthetics

CFP: Open Call - Aesthetic Inquiries 4

Deadline: 01 September 2017

Evental Aesthetics is an independent, double-blind peer-reviewed journal dedicated to philosophical and aesthetic intersections. The journal is open-access, and there are no publication fees. The Editors seek submissions for an unthemed issue in late 2017.

Aesthetic Inquiries 4 will be devoted to philosophical matters pertaining to any aesthetic practice or experience, including but not limited to art and everyday aesthetics.

We welcome articles (4,000-8,000 words) and Collisions (1,000-2,500 words). Collisions are brief responses to aesthetic experiences that raise philosophical questions, pointing the way towards suggestive discussions. We're also seeking proposals for Collisions with academic books (EA’s version of book reviews).

Submission and formatting requirements, along with further information on Collisions, are available at http://eventalaesthetics.net/submissions/.  Submissions that do not meet our requirements will not be considered.  With questions not addressed by the EA website, please contact the Editors.

CALL FOR PAPERS

Art: Premodern, Modern, Postmodern, Bie-modern

With the development of globalization and localization, the relationship between art and its historical context is receiving renewed attention from a field of scholars.  The description of premodern, modern and postmodern art may not be satisfactory when describing the motivation and influences of some contemporary Chinese art that has been identified as “Bie-modern art” or a hybrid form of art developing from within Chinese Society.

The Center for Chinese Bie-modern Studies (CCBMS) of Georgia Southwestern State University, in collaboration with the Institute of Aesthetics and Aesthetic Education of Shanghai Normal University, will host an International Symposium in October 2017.

For more information on the topic and details of the submission see the attachment.
