Finnish Society of Aesthetics

The Finnish Society of Aesthetics, established in 1972, aims to promote discussion on aesthetic matters in Finland and provide a meeting place for people interested in aesthetics. Currently the society has c. 160 members. The board of 2016 comprises of chairman PhD. doc. Sanna Lehtinen and five other members. The society organizes seminars on aesthetics twice per year and provides a newsletter on actual issues to its members. In addition, the society awards annually “The Aesthetic Deed of the Year” for persons or organizations who have significantly contributed to the promotion of aesthetic issues in Finland, as well as “The Global Aesthetic Deed of the Year” for a significant global aesthetic deeds and the “Article of the Year” for a significant article in the field of aesthetics.
