Culture and Dialogue provides a forum for researchers from philosophy as well as other disciplines who study cultural formations dialogically, through comparative analysis, or within the tradition of hermeneutics. For each issue, the Journal seeks to bring manuscripts together with a common denominator. We are pleased to announce the release of Volume 7, Number 1 (2019) on the theme of Dialogue and Creativity.

CALL FOR PAPERS
At the outset of the 21st century technological advances combined with shifting geo-political conditions have radically altered the nature of things, from smartphones to the internet of things in contexts that are both “global”and “post-colonial”. In the spirit of collective inter-disciplinary scholarly enquiry, this conference proposes as a first step of “rethinking”the thing in the 21st century a workshop of international thinkers and practitioners across multiple fields. We invite proposals on any topic relevant to the problem of the current nature and understanding of things from disciplines such as, but not confined to, philosophy, design, aesthetics, cultural theory, and the arts.
Deadline for abstract submissions: 30 June, 2019.
Please, find further details in the attached pdf.
The Finnish Society of Aesthetics commemorates the 60th birthday of Professor Arto Haapala with the anthology Paths from the Philosophy of Art to Everyday Aesthetics (ed. Oiva Kuisma, Sanna Lehtinen, and Harri Mäcklin). The twelve essays collected in this volume discuss a wide range of topics from aesthetic intimacy to the nature of modernity and the essence of everydayness, which play important roles both in the philosophy of art and everyday aesthetics. The book can be downloaded in pdf-format from HELDA, the digital repository of the University of Helsinki: https://helda.helsinki.fi/handle/10138/302115
